Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease which arises when the cartilage around joints begins to erode. As a result, the bones at the joints brush against each other during movement, causing extreme pain. Symptoms of Arthritis are much more evident in elderly patients, however it can be a genetic condition passed on through generations. Symptoms primarily include stiffness, pain while moving, and inflammation around joints.
