Allergy - Eucalyptus Test

There are two methods of testing for Eucalyptus allergy. The first kind of test is performed on a sample of skin to measure the level of Allergic Skin Reaction in the skin. Whereas, the other Allergy Eucalyptus test is performed on a sample of blood to measure the level of IgE Antibodies in the blood. Both of these tests are performed to confirm Eucalyptus Allergy and also during the treatment and after the treatment of Eucalyptus Allergy.

If the conditions or medications could potentially harm the testing procedure or lead to a negative reaction, then the doctor will ask you to take the specific precautions.

These tests are used on people showing signs and symptoms of allergic reactions to eucalyptus. The normal result for Allergy Eucalyptus Enzyme Assay Skin for Allergic Skin Reaction is A wheal and flare reaction of at least 3mm indicates that the patient is allergic to the substance. Otherwise there is no reaction seen. The normal result for Allergy Eucalyptus Enzyme Assay Blood for IgE Antibodies is Increased IgE (>100 kU/l) is seen if the person is allergic. Once the diagnosis has been derived from these tests the person can be prescribed the medication required depending on the level of the allergy.

Allergy Eucalyptus Enzyme Assay Skin is done using Enzyme Assay method on a Skin sample. This procedure involves a skin test where small amount of allergen is introduced into the patient’s skin. This patch of skin is monitored and checked for any changes. This method can be risky for people with extreme high allergic reactions to eucalyptus. The second method, Allergy Eucalyptus Enzyme Assay Blood is done using Enzyme Assay method on a Blood sample. This procedure involves detection of allergen specific IgE in a blood sample. These are the antibodies generated by the body. Occurrence of these antibodies mean that the person is allergic. However further testing might be needed.
