About Acefen Sp Tablet
Acefen Sp Tablet is prescribed for people with painful rheumatic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. This active constituent of this medication belongs to the class of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs).
Acefen Sp Tablet works by blocking the effect of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes which make chemical prostaglandins at sites of injury or damage, causing pain, swelling and inflammation.
Acefen SP medication eases pain and reduces inflammation. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take Acefen Sp Tablet. Also, children are advised not to consume this medication.
You should not be taking Acefen Sp Tablet if –
- You are allergic to this medication or other anti-inflammatory painkillers.
- You ever had a problem with stomach or duodenal bleeding, such as an ulcer.
- You have a heart condition, impaired kidney or liver function.

How does this medication work?
Acefen SP Tablet is a combination medicament, thus works through dual mechanism. The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory constituent of the medicine helps to relieve pain. Prostaglandins are responsible for pain, inflammation, swelling and fever. Aceclofenac and Paracetamol inhibits the action of cyclooxygenase in the brain which is involved in the production of prostaglandins. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that is extracted from a silkworm. It acts as an anti-inflammatory pain reliever. This tablet facilitates the breakdown of proteins and reduces the formation of mucous and relieves inflammation.
