This is a combination medication which has Alfuzosin and Dutasteride as active ingredients. It is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), found in men with an enlarged prostate. How does this medication work?
This medication belongs to the non-subtype of specific alpha (1) - the adrenergic blocking agent that shows for alpha (1)-adrenergic receptors selectively within the lower urinary tract. Dutasteride is primarily used as a form of treatment for enlarged prostate in males and also has secondary functionalities. The drug restricts the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. DHT is responsible for the swelling of the prostate.
