Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways. Ambrodil syrup inhibits the activation of guanylate cyclase which is nitric oxide dependent. It reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucous in upper respiratory tract to increase flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucous. This drug also binds to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine. Lastly, it works by narrowing the swelling of blood vessels in the ear and nose, thereby providing great relief from discomfort.
