Anxozap 10Mg Tablet is mainly used to treat patients who suffer from severe anxiety and agitation. It can also reduce insomnia and control the uncomfortable symptoms of alcohol withdrawal process. The medicine may also be administered to treat pre- menstrual symptoms, mild depressive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
It works by acting on benzodiazepine receptors resulting in an increased affinity between gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and GABA-A receptors. Since GABA is inhibitory in effect, its stimulation leads to an increased inhibition of cortical and limbic arousal.
Before taking Anxozap 10Mg Tablet, tell your doctor if you are allergic to oxazepam, temazepam or any of its active ingredients. This drug should not be taken if you have a history of breathing or lung problems like sleep apnea or COPD, or if you suffer from any liver or kidney problems, glaucoma or seizures. It should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women as it may harm the fetus and pass through breast milk and have harmful effects on the neonate.
The most common side effect of this drug is dizziness combined with blurred vision. Headaches, restlessness or weakness can also occur. More serious but rare side effects include memory problems, appetite changes, abdominal pain or cramps, fainting spells, vomiting or yellowing of the eyes.
