About Aztolet 10 Tablet
Aztolet tablet belongs to a group of drugs known as statins. It reduces the level of low density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol in the body. This drug is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack or coronary heart diseases.
Use this medication as directed by the doctor. This drug is not permitted to be used by anyone below the age of 10 years. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this drug. You should also consult with your doctor regarding the intake of this drug in case you are suffering from kidney disease or undergoing dialysis.

How does this medication work?
This medication increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. Lastly, it is a prodrug with anticoagulatory properties that is broken down by CYP450 enzymes to its active metabolite that prevents adenosine diphosphate (ADP) from binding to its platelet P2Y12 receptor.
