Besix 0.6% W/V Eye Drop is an ophthalmic drug. It is mainly used for eye infections such as bacterial conjunctivitis, infection of the eye membrane or inflammation in the underside of the eyelids causing extreme irritation, watering and redness. It may cause vision problems along with headaches and photosensitivity. The medicine is administered in the form of eye drops and belongs to the fluoroquinolones family of drugs.

This medication works by inhibiting fundamental bacterial enzymes and also the DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. As it belongs to the bactericidal antibiotic class, it produces these pharmacological actions. DNA Gyrase inhibition prevents replication, transcription, and repair of DNA, and Topoisomerase IV inhibition prevents decatenation during cell division. In addition to these actions, it also inhibits the development of antibiotic resistance.
