About Betadine 10% Solution

Betadine solution is an antiseptic combination which is used to treat minor wounds, burns and infections by killing bacteria. It oxidises cell constituents and inactivates proteins by iodinating them.

This is used as a disinfectant before and after surgery to disinfect the skin of patients and the hands of the healthcare provider. People having thyroid problems should not make frequent use of this medicine.

It is not recommended for people who are pregnant, planning to conceive, breastfeeding or are taking lithium. If you are allergic to any ingredient in this medication then you should not use this medicine.

Inform your doctor about any other medications, dietary supplement or herbal preparation you take to ensure this medicine is safe for you. Betadine 10% Solution is for external use only. The patient must follow the instruction mentioned by your doctor.

Wash and dry your hands and the area where it is to be applied. To get most of the benefit, you must use this regularly. Must not be used in more of the dose recommended, as it may not clear your condition faster.
