    How does this medication work?

This syrup is an expectorant which reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucus in upper respiratory tract to increase flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucus. Also, it increases serous mucus production in respiratory tract and reduces phlegm viscosity, which helps the cilia to clear mucus from the respiratory tract. This drug is also assigned to stimulation via beta-adrenergic receptors of the intracellular adenylyl cyclase. The intracellular adenyl cyclase enzyme causes conversion of adenosine triphosphate into adenosine monophosphate.
