It is active against Gram-negative as well as Gram-positive bacteria including Anaerobic cocci, Bacteroides spp., Enterobacter spp., E. coli, H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, M. morganii, Serratia spp., S. aureus, S. pneumoniae, S. pyogenes. It comes as a intravenous injection.
