About Cetuximab
Considered as an anti-neoplastic, Cetuximab is used in the targeted treatment of cancer. The drug may be prescribed for the treatment of various types of cancers like metastatic colorectal cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer and squamous cell cancer affected the head and neck.
This medicine is mostly given with the help of intravenous infusion. The dosage of the drug is generally dependent on a number of factors like height, weight, overall medical health of the patient, age, his response to the drug and the severity of the cancer.
While in most cases, patients do not experience side effects of a drug, in some case they may have symptoms of some common side effects and in very rare cases a complication may arise. Some common side effects of Cetuximab are pain in the abdomen, diarrhea, weakness, headache, cough, development of infections, loss of weight as well as appetite and problems with breathing.
