About Clopitorva 10 Capsule

Clopitorva capsule belongs to a group of drugs known as statins and anti-platelet. It reduces the level of low-density lipoprotein or “bad cholesterol” in the body. The medication helps in managing narrowing of arteries caused due to high cholesterol levels in the body. This drug is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack or coronary heart diseases.

This capsule might cause certain side effects such as constipation, headache, stomach pain, weakness etc.

Side effects like allergic reactions, blood in urine, chest pain, severe back pain, symptoms of liver problems can also persist.

    How does this medication work?

    Clopitorva 10 Capsule increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. It also prevents adenosine diphosphate (ADP) from binding to its platelet P2Y12 receptor. This inhibits the ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex, which in turn inhibits coagulation.
