Dexoren S Eye/Ear Drops is a blend of two drugs which are Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic medication which obstructs bacterial development in the eye/ear by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by the bacteria to carry out vital functions. Dexamethasone is a steroidal medication which performs its action by obstructing the production of prostaglandins that make the eye/ear red, swollen and itchy. In the case of children, the dosage is also determined according to their weight. You doctor will first start you off with a low dose to see how your body accepts the drug. If you do not develop any side effects he may increase the dosage.
