How does this medication work?
The active constituent of this medication is an antihyperlipidemic and an isomer of synthetic thyroxine. It stimulates low-density lipoprotein (LDL) formation in the liver and also increases its catabolic action. The drug increases bile and cholesterol excretion so that they are removed with the faeces and hence, LDL and serum cholesterol is reduced.
