This ointment contains Clobetasol and Salicylic Acid which belongs to corticosteroids and a keratolytic group of drugs. The former drug works as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the metabolism of arachidonic acid by inhibiting phospholipase A2 thus inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. The latter drug works by breaking down keratin clumps and further remove dead skin cells and softens the skin. Also, it increases the Clobetasol absorption into the skin.
