About Famcimac 500Mg Tablet

Famcimac 500Mg Tablet falls under a category of drugs known as antiviral. It is used in the treatment of shingles and recurrent herpes skin infections in people with a history of HIV infection. It is also used to treat cold sores and genital herpes.

On using Famcimac 500Mg Tablet you may experience certain possible side effects such as vomiting, nausea, weakness, headache, diarrhoea and gas. Certain severe reactions may occur such as hives, trouble breathing and swallowing, chest pain, hallucinations, abnormal bleeding, swelling of body parts and disorientation.     How does this medication work?

    This medication belongs to the class of an antiviral medication used for the treatment of various herpes infections like herpes zoster, herpes simplex virus 2, herpes labialis and frequent occurrence of herpes simplex in HIV patients. It is a prodrug belonging to the class of guanosine analogue. Therefore, once taken it gets converted into penciclovir which again changes when it reaches the virus cells in the body. The activated penciclovir blocks the action of DNA polymerase.
