About Febuget 40 MG Tablet

Febuget Tablet is used for decreasing the symptoms of gout. The symptoms could be swelling, pain, soreness, redness and stiffness in certain joints of the body. It belongs to the group of medications called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. The medicine works by decreasing the level of uric acid by blocking the xanthine oxidase enzyme.

This enzyme helps the body to make uric acid from xanthine. When there are high levels of uric acid in the blood, it can lead to gout and the symptoms associated with it. Your dosage of Febuget Tablet depends on your age, the condition for which you are being treated and it’s severity, your medical history, and reaction to the first dose.

The common side effects of Febuget 40 MG Tablet include joint pain, nausea, rash or a flare-up of gout. At times, it can also lead to inaccurate results if you undergo a liver function test. Consult your doctor immediately in case of serious side effects like:

  • Tiredness, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite, dark urine or discomfort in the upper right portion of the abdomen; indicating a liver problem
  • Chest pain, dizziness, cold sweats, vomiting or difficulty in breathing

  • An allergic reaction, causing your throat or tongue to swell or trouble to breathe
