About Fenak Plus 50mg/325mg Tablet
Fenak Plus 50mg/325mg Tablet is used for the pain management. It is prescibed for the treatment of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylosis and severe menstrual pain. This medication is an anti-inflammatory painkiller.
The tablet works by obstructing the production of cyclooxygenase, which synthesizes the compound called prostaglandin. This compound is responsible for symptoms of arthritis such as pain, swelling and inflammation.
It is used to alleviate symptoms such as inflammation, pain, fever and swollen joints. It is advisable to take this medication only under the guidance and recommendation of a medical practitioner.
It is important to inform your doctor if you suffer from disorders such as:
- Heart disease
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- Bleeding disorder.
The common side effects of this medication include diarrhea, heartburn, dizziness, headache, stomach pain or cramps, black stool, weight loss and fatigue.
Overdosage/Toxicology: Acetylcysteine 140 mg/kg orally (loading) followed by 70 mg/kg every 4 hours for 17 doses. Therapy should be initiated based upon laboratory analysis suggesting high probability of hepatotoxic potential. Activated charcoal is very effective at binding acetaminophen.
Take exactly as directed (do not increase dose or frequency); most adverse effects are related to excessive use. Take with food or milk. While using this medication, avoid alcohol and other prescription or OTC medications that contain acetaminophen.
Maintain adequate hydration (2-3 L/day of fluids unless instructed to restrict fluid intake). This medication will not reduce inflammation; consult prescriber for anti-inflammatory, if needed.
