About Fulvenat 120mg Injection

Fulvenat 120mg Injection is a type of hormone therapy medicine used in treatment of estrogen hormone receptor (HR) positive metastatic breast cancer, in post menopausal women when the disease or the cancer has progressed to other body parts after the treatment with some anti-estrogen medication. It acts as a downregulator for estrogen receptors.

Fulvenat 120mg Injection should not be taken if you are pregnant, or plan on becomig pregnant, breastfeeding or if you are taking aspirin or any other pain relievers, have any liver disease, thrombocytopenia, or blood clotting disorder. You should also consult your doctor before taking Fulvenat 120mg Injection if you are taking any supplements, any other medicines or herbal preparations or if you are allergic to medicines and such substances.

The side effects of Fulvenat 120mg Injection includes weakness, back pain, nausea, headache, vomiting, sore throat, constipation, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, cough or swelling at injection site. These are common side effects but you should see a doctor if they persist for long periods. Other serious but rare side effects includes vaginal bleeding and blood clots, and you should immediately see a doctor if you experience these.

Fulvenat 120mg Injection is given as an intramuscular injection. The initial dosage is 500mg that is given on the 1st, 15th and 29th day of the first month and after that it is usually given once a month for as long as prescribed by the doctor.     This medication belongs to an estrogen receptor antagonist class which works by competitively and reversibly binding to estrogen receptors in cancer cells and downregulating them to prevent estrogen binding. It also degrades the estrogen receptors to which it is bound, further preventing estrogen binding.
