About Geriflo Tablet
It is a combination medication that has Tamsulosin and Finasteride as active ingredients. This is an alpha-blocker that helps to relax the enlarged muscles of an affected prostrate and bladder. It helps to ease out the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which includes difficulty in urination, increased need to urinate at odd times, and a weak stream.
Being a medicine for men, this medication is not for use for women and children. You must brief the doctor about all other medications you’re currently on. It should not be taken if you are allergic to it.

How does this medication work?
This is a combination medication that works differently. Firstly, it is an antagonist to alpha-1A as well as alpha-1B-adrenoceptors within the prostatic urethra, bladder neck, prostate, and prostatic capsule. Alpha1-adrenoceptors subtypes such as alpha-1A, alpha-1B, and alpha-1D. Lastly, finasteride is used for treating benign enlarged prostate and hair loss in the scalp of men. Finasteride is a class of 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that acts as an antiandrogen thereby lowering the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in certain body parts like hair follicles and prostate glands.
