Grandem 1Mg Syrup

This syrup is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. It is used for preventing vomiting and nausea caused by cancer chemotherapy. This syrup works by blocking serotonin in the body that can cause vomiting.

Do not use this syrup if you are allergic to it or if you are taking apomorphine. Some medical conditions that may interfere with the action of this syrup are heart problems, blood electrolyte problems, an abnormal electrocardiogram, and stomach or bowel problems.

This syrup is an antiemetic agent working as a selective antagonist of 5-HT3 serotonin receptors centrally as well as peripherally. Inhibition of 5-HT3 receptors directly as well as indirectly inhibits the visceral stimulation of the vomiting center in turn.
