About Hydroxyprogesterone
Hydroxyprogesterone is a synthetic prescription medication given to pregnant women. It prevents the chances of an early delivery. This injection is given to women after the first trimester. This is a hormone medication that belongs to a category of drugs known as progestin.
This medicine is also used for the treatment of amenorrhea, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis and uterine carcinoma. It needs to be administered into the muscles by trained hands only.
Do not use this injection If you have or are:
- Allergic to any medicine, foods, substances or any of the ingredients contained within this injection.
- Taking any prescriptive or non-prescriptive drugs, herbal, vitamins or dietary supplements.
- Diabetes or high blood sugar.
- Heart, liver or kidney problems.
- Vaginal bleeding.
- Breastfeeding a baby.

- Epilepsy or any other kind of seizures.
- Hormone-sensitive cancers.

Probable allergic reacions are redness, difficulty in breathing, severe swelling of the face, lips, mouth, throat, hands, ankles or feet, signs of depression and coughing up blood.
