About Korandil 5Mg Tablet

This medication is a vasodilator drug. It treats angina chest pain. It widens blood vessels thus increasing the blood and oxygen flow to the heart. It is used to treat other heart conditions also.

The dosage should be prescribed by your doctor based on your medical history and current condition. The usual dose in adults is about 10 mg twice a day which may be increased to 20 mg depending on your response.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication triggers guanylate cyclase to enhance the production of cyclic GMP, thereby activating protein kinase G. Therefore, GTPase RhoA is inhibited and Rho-kinase activity is decreased. As a result, the myosin phosphate activity is accelerated and the calcium sensitivity of the smooth muscle is reduced. Owing to its nitrate property, nicorandil works as a vasodilator.
