In hypothyroidism all the evidence available points to avoiding soy and soy isoflavones as they affect the absorption of levothyroxine which is used for treatment of hypothyroidism. So my advice is not use the soy isofalvones.

Subtotal thyroidectomy is a surgical procedure, in which the surgeon leaves a small thyroid remnant in situ to preserve thyroid function, thereby preventing lifelong thyroid hormone supplementation therapy but a high percentage of patients still develops hypothyroidism and need levothyroxine therapy depending upon the levels of thyroid hormones (t3, t4, tsh), if they are normal or hypothyroid levels.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis is caused by autoimmune response by body where body try to destroy thyroid gland and its enzyme. Anti-tpo anti atg is mostly positive or either of it. Thyroid peroxidase is enzyme needs to build t3 t4 hormones from iodine. The best way to treat is via levothyroxine supplementation. Iodine is raw material but when enzyme is destructed by autoimmune system, supplementing raw material is not of much use.

A common treatment is to replace thyroxine with a specific synthetic thyroid hormone (levothyroxine). This hormone is safe and affordable, but determining the right dosage often takes time. Your metabolic rate has to be returned to normal. Raising it too quickly can cause palpitations and make some medical problems like coronary artery disease and atrial fibrillation worse. Symptoms of thyroid hormone excess are: shakiness or tremors

    insomnia
    increased appetite

    What is her current weight?
what are values of t3 t4 tsh?

Lybrate-user, hashimoto's thyroiditis (ht), which is the autoimmune condition, causing hypothyroidism. Treatment is same like hypothyroidism. With thyroxine tablets. The problems mentioned could be part of the symptoms of ht. However, some times digestive problems may not be connected with that condition. It is better if you increase intake of green leafy vegetables and fruits, that will help in reducing this. Plus hypothyroidism has to be well controlled.
