About Lipikind-F Tablet

This medication is composed of Atorvastatin & Fenofibrate and belongs to a group of drugs known as “statins”. It reduces the level of low-density lipoprotein or “bad cholesterol” in the body. The tablet also helps in curing various conditions like narrowing of arteries that arises due to high cholesterol levels in the body.

The drug reduces the amount of liver fat in the body. It is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack or coronary heart diseases. Use of this tablet must be as per directed by the doctor.

    How does this medication work?

    The medication increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. It also works by stimulating lipoprotein lipase and decreasing the formation of apoprotein C-III which in turn leads to reduction low-density cholesterol, triglyceride levels and an increase in high-density lipoprotein.
