About Medisalic Ointment

Medisalic Ointment is a combination drug that is emplyed in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis. It works by removing the dead skin cells and helping to soften the skin. Medisalic Ointment provides relief from itching, redness, and swelling.

Medisalic ointment is composed of Salicylic Acid and Clobetasol Propionate. The latter is an analogue of prednisolone and has little mineralocorticoid activity and a high degree of glucocorticoid activity. Salicylic Acid is an antiseptic agent and a keratolytic.

The drug is a strong corticosteroid with very high potency. It is known to reduce the adverse effects of chemicals that bring about inflammation in the body. This ointment is used for the purpose of treating redness, itching, and inflammation caused by a number of skin conditions like allergic reactions, eczema, rashes, dermatitis, and psoriasis.

It is also used in the treatment of numerous autoimmune diseases like alopecia areata, vitiligo, lichen sclerosis, and lichen planus. Topical salicylic acid is known to contain keratolytic properties. It also has fungicidal and bacteriostatic actions.

The way you should use it is by taking a small amount of the ointment and applying the preparation in a thin coating to the affected areas only. One should use this not more than twice a day. Massage it gently on the affected area until it absorbs it. Wash your hands after the application.
