Melflam 7.5mg Tablet helpful in relieving of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, and is known as an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). It thus reduces pain, stiffness of the bones and swelling as well.
Melflam 7.5mg Tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed by your medical professional. The drug should be taken orally, along with a glass of water, unless discourage by your doctor. Avoid lying down for about 10 minutes just after consuming a dose.
The drug is available in both tablet and liquid form. In case you are taking liquid Melflam 7.5mg Tablet, make sure that you shake the bottle before each dose. Use a measuring device to ensure that you take the precise dose as prescribed. Avoid using a tablespoon or teaspoon in this case.

Management of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) intoxication is supportive and symptomatic. Since Melflam 7.5mg Tablet undergoes enterohepatic cycling, multiple doses of charcoal may be needed to reduce the potential for delayed toxicities. Cholestyramine has been shown to increase Melflam 7.5mg Tablet clearance.

- Ace inhibitors: Antihypertensive effects of ACE inhibitors may be diminished by NSAID administration.
- Anticoagulants (warfarin, heparin, LHWHs) in combination with NSAIDs can cause increased risk of bleeding.
- Antiplatelet drugs (ticlopidine, clopidogrel, aspirin, abciximab, dipyridamole, eptifibatide, tirofiban) can cause an increased risk of bleeding.
- Aspirin increases serum concentrations (AUC) of Melflam 7.5mg Tablet (in addition to potential for additive adverse effects); concurrent use is not recommended.
- Cholestyramine (and possibly colestipol) increases the clearance of Melflam 7.5mg Tablet.
- Corticosteroids may increase the risk of GI ulceration; avoid concurrent use.
- Cyclosporine: NSAIDs may increase serum creatinine, potassium, blood pressure, and cyclosporine levels; monitor cyclosporine levels and renal function carefully.
- Hydralazine's antihypertensive effect is decreased; avoid concurrent use.
- Lithium levels can be increased; avoid concurrent use if possible or monitor lithium levels and adjust dose. When NSAID is stopped, lithium will need adjustment again.
- Loop diuretic's efficacy (diuretic and antihypertensive effect) may be reduced by NSAIDs.
- Antihypertensive effects of thiazide diuretics are decreased; avoid concurrent use.
- Warfarin INRs may be increased by Melflam 7.5mg Tablet. Monitor INR closely, particularly during initiation or change in dose. May increase risk of bleeding. Use lowest possible dose for shortest duration possible.
