About Nepacent Eye Drop
Nepacent Eye Drop belongs to the class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It works by blocking a certain natural substance called prostaglandins in the body that causes swelling and pain. It is used to treat pain, irritation, redness and inflammation associated with cataract surgery.
On application, this medication may temporarily burn or string your eyes for the next 1-2 minutes. Eye redness and headache may also occur. If more serious side effects like eye swelling, vision changes, eye pain, eye discharge or extreme watering occur then call for medical help immediately.
To ensure this medication is safe for you inform your doctor if you have bleeding problems, diabetes, previous eye surgery, other eye problems, rheumatoid arthritis, nasal polyps or asthma. Also inform your doctor if you are taking any anti-platelet medications, corticosteroid drugs, blood thinners or other eye medications.
The usual dose of Nepacent Eye Drop recommended is one drop, thrice a day, in each affected eye. Treatment with this medicine begins one day before the cataract surgery, continues on the day of surgery and lasts for the first two weeks of the postoperative period.

Nepacent Eye Drop is an NSAID that is used to reduce inflammation in cataract surgery by inhibiting synthesis of prostaglandin. After entering the body it converts to amfenac which is an inhibitor for COX 1 AND COX 2 enzymes.
