In anemia, it increases blood cell production by promoting nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow and by promoting maturation and division of erythrocytes.

Pregabalin causes a reduced release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, substance P thus slowing down nerve signals. Folic Acid helps in the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine which are necessary for the production of blood and its component. Benfotiamine is dephosphorylated by Ecto-alkaline phosphatases to S-benzoylthiamine in the intestinal mucosa, which is then hydrolyzed to thiamine by liver thioesterases.
