About Nexito Forte Tablet

Nexito Forte Tablet is used to treat and prevent generalized anxiety disorder and depression. This medicine is a combination of an anti-epileptic and an anti-convulsant in combination with an antidepressant. This medicine is administered to control panic attacks.

Belonging to a cluster of drugs called benzodiazepines. It works by inducing a calming effect on your nerves and brain. The most common side effects include

  • drowsiness
  • dizziness
  • fatigue
  • loss of focus
  • increased secretion of saliva in the mouth.

Let your doctor know if you have been feeling depressed for no particular reason. If you notice any change in the way you behave with people around you. Other side effects include rash, itching, sore throat and fever.

This medication can increase suicidal thoughts and behaviours especially amongst teenagers, children, and young adults if taken in excess amounts. Hence, this drug should only be taken under a doctor’s prescription.

This medication is normally prescribed to be taken once a day. The usual dose is 10-20 mg for adults as well as children. It is not suitable for everyone as it might cause harmful effects on people suffering from certain conditions.

    Nexito tablet is an anticonvulsant and an ant-epileptic which acts as a tranquilizer. It inhibits the synaptic transmission that occurs in the central nervous system. This also reduces the use of serotonin by neurons and is used to treat seizures and anxiety. Acts as a selective inhibitor of serotonin (5-HT) re-uptake with high affinity for the primary binding site. Binds to an allosteric site on the serotonin transporter, with a 1000 fold lower affinity.

        • Cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, clarithromycin, clozapine, CNS depressants, diltiazem, disulfiram, digoxin, erythromycin, ethanol, fluconazole, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, grapefruit juice, isoniazid, itraconazole, ketoconazole, labetalol, levodopa, loxapine, metoprolol, metronidazole, miconazole, nefazodone, omeprazole, phenytoin, rifabutin, rifampin, troleandomycin, verapamil may increase the serum level and/or toxicity of clonazepam; monitor for altered benzodiazepine response.
