About Novelon Tablet
Novelon Tablet is used as an oral contraception for prevention of pregnancy. The medicine works by preventing the process of ovulation and also affects sperm movement in the womb and inhibits its union with the egg. The medicine should not be consumed by patients below 18 years of age due to risks associated with it.
Novelon Tablet is a combination of Ethinyl Estradiol and Desogestrel. Desogestrel is a birth control drug and is used alone as a progesterone-only contraceptive, known as “mini-pills” or in combination with ethinylestradiol in combined oral contraceptives.
The dosage of the medicine should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food but make sure you consume it at fixed time. Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during the course of this medication as it may lead to certain side effects.
