Oflo M Suspension is a combination medication primarily prescribed for treating diarrhoea and/or dysentery. It comprises antibacterial and antiamoebic drugs that fight against parasitic and bacterial infections. It is very effective in treating infectious conditions due to its dual-action.

This medication inhibits the production of certain enzymes in the DNA of a bacteria, which are necessary for the survival and growth of this bacterial infections. It works as a bactericidal by inhibiting the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme, which is essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This leads to expansion and destabilization of the bacterial DNA and causes cell death. Metronidazole belongs to the class anthelmintics. It enters into the organism and forms the free radical. A concentration gradient is created in the organism due to alteration in the molecule and promotes the influx of the molecule.   • Increased toxicity/serum levels: Quinolones cause increased caffeine, warfarin, cyclosporine, procainamide, and possibly theophylline levels. Cimetidine and probenecid increase quinolone levels.
