This medication is for external use only. Take it in the portion and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the mark and leaflet present inside the box/pack for bearings before use. Hold the dropper near the eye without contacting it. Tenderly crush the dropper and spot the drug inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off additional fluid. Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops might be dangerous to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops is a broad spectrum antibiotic used for treating a number of severe bacterial infections of eyes. This medication is also used to treat conjunctivitis.

This medicine is usually not recommended unless absolutely necessary due to its many side effects. It includes Eye irritation and Burning sensation. To reduce the risk of side effects treatment duration should be as short as possible.

Some medicines may interact with the action of Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops. Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially any anticoagulants, hydantoins, sulfonylureas or medicines that may decrease your bone marrow.

It is recommended to monitor blood cell levels, once in every two days during treatment. If you miss a scheduled dose of this medicine or if you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention as soon as possible. The duration for which Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops remains effective usually varies according to the intended use and dosing regimen.

  The effect of this medicine lasts for a duration of 12 to 20 hours.

  Use of this medicine is not recommended in pregnant women. Use only if clearly needed under the supervision of the doctor.

Avoid breastfeeding for about 3 to 4 hours to decrease the infant's risk exposure. Monitoring of undesired effects like diarrhea, diaper rash is necessary.

Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops belongs to the class fluoroquinolones. It works as a bactericidal by inhibiting the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme, which is essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This leads to expansion and destabilization of the bacterial DNA and causes cell death.

Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

  Escitalopram

  Quinidine

  Antidiabetic medicines

  You may experience hypoglycemic effects like dizziness, headache, nervousness, confusion, tremor and weakness if these medicines are used together. Hyperglycemic effects like increased thirst, urination and hunger are less likely to occur. Regular blood glucose checkups are to be performed if you are diabetic or has any kidney disease. Appropriate dose adjustment or replacement of the medicine should be made under the doctor's supervision.

  Aspirin

  You may experience tremors, involuntary muscle movements, hallucinations, or seizures if these medicines are used together. This interaction is more likely to happen if you have a history of seizures or family history of seizures.   Ethinyl Estradiol

  Central Nervous System Depression

  If you suffer from CNS disorder and you take Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops, then you may experience tremors, restlessness, anxiety, confusion and hallucinations. Avoid consuming caffeine containing products like coffee, chocolates and energy drinks.

  Colitis

  Avoid taking Oflokem Eye/Ear Drops if you experience severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, and blood in stools after taking the medicine. Inform the doctor if you have any gastrointestinal diseases. Drink adequate amount of water to prevent dehydration.

  Qt Prolongation
