About Ovral Tablet
Ovral Tablet is a contraceptive pill consumed to avoid unwanted pregnancy. It is an oral pill which is to be followed as per the regimen, for 28 days or as prescribed by a doctor. Quite a few times, it is prescribed in the treatment of irregular periods.
This medication contains two types of drugs, which is a combination of Ethinyl estradiol and Levonorgestrel as active ingredients. This tablet is taken for 28 days regularly after completion of your menstural cycle. It helps to prevent the release of the egg and its fertilization by the sperm. It functions by stopping ovulation i.e. stopping ovaries from releasing an egg.
Ovral Tablet is also known to reduce or stop short term changes of menopause. You must always consult your gynaecologist before consuming the pill as it may have certain side effects like lower abdominal pains, acne, vomiting, allergic reaction, high blood pressure etc.
If consumed in regular doses, as prescribed by the doctor, this drug can avoid pregnancy up to three years.
