About Ovuloc Ld Tablet
Desogestrel is a synthetic progestin used as an oral contraceptive and its main function is the prevention of pregnancy. It is a birth control drug and is used alone as a progesterone-only contraceptive, known as “mini-pills” or in combination with ethinylestradiol in combined oral contraceptives.
The medication should be taken as per the directions given by the doctor. It is meant for oral consumption and can be taken with or without food. How does this medication work?
This medication is a semisynthetic estrogen which enters the cells and binds to the estrogen receptors and forms a complex that enters the cell nucleus and bind to the DNA. It activates the DNA transcription of genes that are involved in estrogenic cellular responses. The other active constituent present in the medication Desogestrel, which is a progestin medication that is commonly found in birth control pills. This drug enters the cell passively and binds to the progesterone receptors found in the nucleus.
