This medication acts as a calcium channel blocker that improves blood flow by dilating blood vessels. It is used to improve heart function and control blood flow through the vessels. The drug helps in the treatment of hypertension, that is, high blood pressure and angina, that is, chest pain. It can also be recommended in case of heart failure.

The medicine may not be safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Dosage should be low for elderly people and for those with liver problems. If you have heart problems then the intake of this drug may increase your health problems. Intake of alcohol along with this medicine may increase its side effects.

The drug is a calcium channel blockers. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium into the cardiac and vascular smooth muscles and prevents the contraction of the muscles and thereby reduces the blood pressure. The drug also blocks beta-receptors sites in the heart, blood vessels, and lungs. This results in inhibition of epinephrine resulting in relaxed blood vessels. Thus pressure is lowered and blood flow to the heart is improved.
