Pulmoclear Syrup
About Pulmoclear Syrup
Being a bronchodilator in combination with an expectorant, Pulmoclear works by relaxing the muscles around the bronchioles in the lungs. This helps air to pass in and out of the lungs. It is useful in treating spasms or contractions of the bronchioles observed in asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.
Do not use this if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or to a sympathomimetic amine like epinephrine and albuterol. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

How does this medication work?
Pulmoclear Syrup produces pharmacological effects. This acts by stimulating beta-adrenergic receptors of the intracellular adenylyl cyclase. The intracellular adenyl cyclase enzyme causes conversion of adenosine triphosphate into adenosine monophosphate. It also works on certain enzymes that regulate the constriction of smooth muscles. It also acts on the mucous gel phase of secretions and ciliary movements making the mucus less viscous and faster moving. Lastly it acts as an expectorant which reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucous in upper respiratory tract to increase flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucous.
