Brivaracetam can surely cause mood swing though less than levetiracetam. However, occasionally levetiracetam can cause less behavioral disturbances when compared to brivaracetam .there are many antiseizure drugs that does not worsen mood or anxiety like lamotrigine or carbamazepine. These two drugs rather stabilize mood. Alternatively, levetiracetam can be restarted after discussing with a neurologist as levetiracetam dose can be increased more that what your son was taking.
The dose of levera that you are taking is too less and if its effective for you its ok you can continue it for time required but has it been advised to be taken for life long because there are not many indications for same.
Hello,
the dosage is not clear to me, tegritol is usually administered as 10 mg/kg body weight three times a day, and levera can be given upto 3 gm / day. Unfortunately levera is known to have behaviour problems and aggressiveness could be its side effect. You will require review of your medication and I suggest you consult your doctor who prescribed these drugs to you or come back to me with full details of the seizures and medication in correct dosage.
Hello,
though this kind of problem as a side effect of levera is not recorded and as you have been taking medicine for years and the dose has been decreased the chance of side effects of this nature are less. This is a kind of startle syndrome and does not seem to be part of seizures or side effects some medicine I think adequate rest and proper sleep may get rid both of your pain and startle syndrome, best to review after 2 weeks.
Mild depression can be treated without medications by trying psychotherapy methods like cognitive behavioural therapy. Usually moderate and severe depressive symptoms require medications along with CBT. Good luck

You should not take any medicine without doctor's advice. It may be harmful and can lead to other complications. We have to look into the details of the problem. Let's have a detailed discussion to Ensure proper treatment.
Hello. Which tablet are you taking. I mean which salt
does it contain sodium vqlproate or leviricitam .both have dosage of 500 mg prescribed for adults. Secondly as you said, you didn't had any seizure for last 1 yr. But still you need to continue medicines. Only it's dosage can b tried to reduce with monitoring, if you have severe persistent symptoms of dizziness etc. Let me know the salt, so I can help.
It is recommended that you do not drink alcohol because it does reduce your seizure threshold thus making you more likely to have a seizure or a fit and lower the effect of the medication levetiracetam. Smoking is also recommended to be stopped due to many reasons. I hope you are able to do it. We can certainly help clarify any concerns you may have.
