Mtp Kit Side Effect - 177 Questions Answered

After undergoing a medical termination of pregnancy (mtp) on december 1st when I was at five weeks of pregnancy, I bled for ten days. Following an ultrasound on december 11th, my doctor confirmed the successful abortion. Bleeding ceased completely around december 19th. However, on december 27th, I began bleeding again for two weeks, averaging 1-3 xl pads per day. The bleeding worsened by january 14th, prompting me to consult my gynecologist who prescribed trapic mf thrice a day for three days. Although the bleeding reduced to one pad per day, it persisted. On january 25th, another ultrasound revealed successful abortion but diagnosed me with pcos in my right ovary. The doctor then prescribed ovuloc tab for 21 days, yet the bleeding continued intermittently—some days one pad, other days two, and sometimes just spotting. On february 8th, heavy bleeding akin to periods resumed, leaving me feeling frustrated and unsure of what to do. I'm seeking clarification on whether this post-mtp bleeding is normal.

Post mtp bleeding is not normal. It could be a side effect of the medicines used for abortion or could be a hormonal imbalance which has surfaced now. Let the cycles resume normally and be careful that a situation for abortion does not arise.

It is not advisable to take misoprostol. It is a drug which will cause severe uterine contractions and vomiting at times

I am 31 year old. I took mtp pills on 13th march, amd had bleeding from 24th march. I had heavy bleeding after a week, got a scan and found retained pieces inside. I was advised to take cytolog tab 200 mg twice a day for 5 days. On 27th march, I again had heavy bleeding and so the doc. advice augmentin and metrogyl thrice a day for 5 days as she said it must be infection that is causing pain and bleeding now, it is one and a half day that I took these medicines. I am having lower abdominal pain, it was intense yesterday, but lesser today. Bleeding has also reduced. But, I am looking for a second opinion. I hope my treatment is going in the right direction. Please suggest.

It better to get an ultrasound and make sure everything is cleared. Anyways antibiotic cover has been given, so no need to worry about infection in the process of expulsion, there will be cramps. You can take meftal spas or cyclopam for pain and see.

When medical mtp fails there is chance of future problem. There are many temporary family planning methods like oral pills, injectable hormones, intrauterine devices, condoms, diaphragms, safe period, coitus interruptus, etc. You must know about the success and failure rates of all as well as the advantages and disadvantages of all to decide which suits you the best. Maybe consult gynecologist as a couple.

Hello doc. Im 26 years old and have pcod from 7 years now. On 23ed jan me and my partner met physically (no penetration) but I doubted if any precum entered into me for precaution I took ipill within 3 hrs post intercourse and got no periods until 3 days after which a local gynac gave me an mtp kit without confirmation of pregnancy. I took only mifepristone and 3 days later I e; 28th of jan had bleeding which continued till 2nd feb (7 days). I was then put on krimson 35 tablet on 14th feb and I took the tablet till 4th march despite severe side effects like bloating, hyperacidity,tiredness, white discharge and limb pain. After 19 tablets I was not able to tolerate the tablet and the doc asked me to stop immediately. (laat krimson taken on 4th march). 2 days later i.e; on 6th march me and my partner met physically (no penetration again) but im not sure about precum. On 9th march (3 days later) I automatically had periods which was a withdrawal from krimson. Today is day 7 and I still have very clear watery organgish stringy discharge. Any chances of pregnancy?

This is a very risky way of taking abortion pills. They have a high hormonal content which can have effect on your menstrual periods. Please do not take it so casually. Full course has to be taken as advised to have effect. Drugs for termination of pregnancy can be taken only under the supervision of doctors licensed for termination, so meet gynecologist. After drugs, for termination of pregnancy, it is sonography 15 days later which decides the success of treatment.

No serious effect and no cancer. But pills like I pill have high hormones so better to learn about family planning methods and choose one from them instead of using emergency pill as family planning
