About Rabigold L Capsule
Rabigold L Capsule is a combination medication, primarily used for treating ulcerative GERD. It is also prescribed for erosive healing, maintenance of ulcerative GERD, duodenal ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome and chronic gastritis. Recently, it has also come to be used in the treatment of hypersecretory conditions that include Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
On using Rabigold L Capsule the associated side effects that you may suffer from are disorientation, delirium, the elevation of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), rhabdomyolysis, bullous, erythema multiforme, drug-induced diarrhoea, twitching, tremor, weight gain or akathisia.
In certain severe cases, you may experience jaundice, interstitial pneumonia, tardive dyskinesia, gynecomastia (a disorder of the endocrine system where there is an enlargement of the male breast size). In the latter case it will be necessary for you to seek medical attention.
Before using this medication it is advised that you consult your doctor and tell him/her if you had/have or are:
- Pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant.
- Nursing a baby
- Taking any prescriptive or over the counter drugs, herbals medications or dietary supplements.
- A recent surgery or are scheduled for one in the near future.
- Pheochromocytoma or gastrointestinal perforation.
- A history of cancer-related disease.
- A history of epilepsy or any other kind of seizures.
- Allergic to any medicine, food or substance.
The dosage of this medication will be as prescribed by your doctor as per the severity of your condition, your age, gender and overall medical history. But commonly a dose of 25 mg of this medicine is prescribed which needs to be taken three times in a day. Results may start to show within an hour or two of using. This medicine is used for the treatment of gastroesophagal reflux disease marked by increased irritation of the stomach caused by bile and acid.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Ibs)
This medicine is used for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome marked by persistent stomach pain, flatulence, diarrhea, or constipation.
Duodenal Ulcer
This medicine is used for the treatment of duodenal ulcer marked by severe abdominal pain, heartburn, indigestion, bloating, belching, nausea or vomiting.
What are the contraindications of Rabigold L Capsule ?
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to Rabigold L Capsule or any other component present with it.
This medicine is not recommended for use if you suffer from epilepsy or have a history of convulsions.
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from bipolar disorder marked by frequent episodes of anxiety, agitation, depression, hallucinations etc.
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having a tumor of the adrenal glands that causes a life threatening rise in blood pressure.
Gastrointestinal Perforations
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a condition where the food pipe and the gut is bleeding, obstructed, and perforated.
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have been diagnosed with breast cancer (malignant mastopathy).

How does this medication work?
This medicine is a combination of Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole. These two belongs to neuroleptic and PPI class respectively. Thus this medicine works via the dual mechanism.
Firstly, it works by selectively binding to dopamine receptors in the brain and the periphery. This action results in an increased tone of muscles in the gastrointestinal tract. Secondly, it binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase in gastric parietal cells, resulting in blockage of acid secretion.
