About Razel 10 MG Tablet

This medication is a drug which is used to lower the cholesterol level and triglycerides in the body. It also used to prevent cardiovascular diseases. This medication belongs to a group of drugs known as “statins”.

It helps reduce the need for medical procedures to open blocked vessels. This medication reduces the blood cholesterol level thus lowering the risk of narrowing of arteries.

This medication should be stored at a temperature between 20 to 25-degree Celcius. It should be kept away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep the drug away from the reach of the children and pets.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor for cholesterol. The primary site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver, the target organ for cholesterol lowering. Rosuvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.
