About Rivotril 0.5 MG Tablet

Rivotril 0.5 MG Tablet is an antiepileptic that is used to treat seizures and anxiety disorders. It also falls under the category of benzodiazepines, which is known for their calming effects on the brain nerves. It works by reducing the levels of serotonin resulting in decreased activity of nerves.

The medications need to be administered orally under the strict prescription of your medical supervisor. The medication can be taken with or without food as directed. Do not overdose or miss the dose of the medication as both situations can cause serious side effects.

General side effects of the medication include fatigue, depression, impaired coordination, dizziness and sleepiness.         Cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, clarithromycin, clozapine, CNS depressants, diltiazem, disulfiram, digoxin, erythromycin, ethanol, fluconazole, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, grapefruit juice, isoniazid, itraconazole, ketoconazole, labetalol, levodopa, loxapine, metoprolol, metronidazole, miconazole, nefazodone, omeprazole, phenytoin, rifabutin, rifampin, troleandomycin, verapamil may increase the serum level and/or toxicity of clonazepam; monitor for altered benzodiazepine response.
