About Roseday 20 MG Tablet

This tablet is a drug which is used to lower the cholesterol level and triglycerides in the body. It is also used to prevent cardiovascular diseases. It belongs to a group of drugs known as “statins”. It is helpful in reducing the need for medical procedures to open blocked vessels. It reduces the blood cholesterol level thus lowering the risk of narrowing of arteries.

    How does this medication work?

    This tablet is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor for cholesterol. The primary site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver, the target organ for cholesterol lowering. Rosuvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.

      Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

      • Interaction with Alcohol

        Ethanol

        Consumption of alcohol with Roseday 20 MG Tablet is not recommended as it increases the risk of side effects of this medicine like dizziness, drowsiness.
      • Interaction with Medicine

        Clarithromycin

        Use of this medicine with clarithromycin may increase the risk of QT prolongation. Inform the doctor if you experience breathlessness, dizziness after taking these medicines. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.

        Ketoconazole

        Use of this tablet with Ketoconazole may increase the risk of QT prolongation. Inform the doctor if you experience breathlessness, dizziness after taking these medicines. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.

        sulfonylureas

        This tablet may increase the effect of sulfonylureas like Glimepiride. Inform the doctor if you have hypoglycemic symptoms like dizziness, headache, weakness after taking these medicines. An alternative class of medicines or dose adjustments should be made under the doctor's supervision.

        Diuretics

        This tablet may lower the blood sodium levels if coadministered with diuretics like hydrochlorothiazide or furosemide. Inform the doctor if you may have symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness after taking these medicines. Consider regular monitoring of blood pressure and sodium level.
      • Interaction with Disease

        Depression

        Use with caution in adults and pediatrics with depression as it may worsen the symptoms. Close monitoring of these symptoms or any changes in the behavior is necessary. Discontinue the medicine if symptoms persist.

        Seizure Disorders

        This tablet is not recommended in patients with unstable epilepsy or in patients who develops seizures for the first time.
