Silverine 1% Cream is used to treat influenza, rheumatic fever with very high temperatures, urinary tract infections. It is used as a preventive antibiotic to inhibit infections in case of severe burns. This medicine belongs to a class of drugs called sulfa antibiotics. However, sometimes this medication will not be very effective in case of viral fever or viral infections.
It is a sulfonamide antibiotic that works by inhibiting para-aminobenzoic acid which is responsible for the synthesis of folic acid inside bacterial cells. This eventually leads to bacterial cell lysis.
