About Spaslin H Injection
Spaslin H Injection is an effective drug administered for the treatment of excessive nausea, vomiting and especially for patients suffering from motion sickness and may be used to reduce the production of saliva especially after some major surgery.
The drug can also help to relieve sea-sickness, abdominal inflammation or spasms, renal spasms, eye inflammation and irritable bowel syndrome. Spaslin H Injection can be administered intravenously, orally and sometimes also through dermal patches.
The drug remains for around 9 – 10 hours in the body and works as a muscarinic antagonist. It blocks the neuro transmitter acetylcholine by binding with muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, which in turn prevents nervous impulses to the parasympathetic nervous system especially to the vomiting center in the brain.
Side effects from the usage of the drug includes and is not restricted to dry mouth, arrhythmia, reduced bronchial secretions, excessive thirst, increased heart rate, dry skin, palpitations, photophobia. It is contraindicated in the case of overactive thyroid glands, Myasthenia Gravis, closed-angle glaucoma, high blood pressure, coronary artery diseases, Sinus Tachycardia, etc.
