Succin Injection
About Succin Injection
Succin Injection is a short acting depolarising neuromuscular blocking agent for producing muscular relaxation during anaesthesia. It is used in anaesthesia as a muscle relaxant to facilitate endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation and a wide range of surgical and obstetric procedures. It is also used to reduce the intensity of muscle contractions associated with pharmacologically or electrically-induced convulsions.
Common Side Effects :cardiac arrest, life threatening elevation in body temperature, abnormal heart rhythms, fast or slow heart rate, high or low blood pressure, high blood potassium, prolonged slow breathing, increased eye pressure, muscle twitching, jaw rigidity, Postoperative muscle pain, breakdown of muscle tissue, excessive salivation, and rashContraindicated in patients with genetic disorders of plasma enzyme abnormality, personal/family history of elevated body temperature, hypersensitivity from previous neuromuscular drug, severe burns, massive trauma, extensive denervation of skeletal muscle, patients with risk of excess plasma potassium, liver impairment, sudden eye pressure.
Warnings and precautions:
- It should only be used in children in emergency situations.
- Caution needed for patients with history of bone fracture, raised eye pressure, neuromuscular disease, infants, children, adolescents, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
