About Taxim OZ Tablet

Taxim tablet treats infections due to bacterial action such as bronchitis, gonorrhoea, and infections of ear, throat, tonsils etc. It impedes bacterial growth and ultimately kills it.

It is available as a chewable tablet and capsule. The interval of dosage varies between 12 to 24 hours. The duration varies between 7 days and 14 days. The doctor’s instruction regarding dosage and duration of use must be followed.

The use of this drug can have side effects like Eosinophilia, Hypereosinophilia, Agranulocytosis, Leucopenia, Neutropenia, Granulocytopenia, Haemolytic anaemia, Thrombocytopenia and Thrombocytosis.

Other side effects include Anaphylactic reaction, Serum sickness-like reaction, Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), Pruritus, Rash, Drug Fever, Arthralgia, Erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome etc

Do not use this drug if you are allergic to the ingredients. It is also best to avoid patients with pre-existing liver and kidney problems. Inform the doctor of all existing medications and drugs you are on to avoid the negative effects of drug interaction.

    This drug belongs to the third generation cephalosporins. It works as a bactericidal by binding to the penicillin-binding proteins and inhibits the bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is also effective against both protozoan and bacterial infection. It kills them by seeping into their cells through diffusion and damaging DNA and other critical biomolecules through formation of reactive nitro radicals.
