About Tricinod -10/12.5 Tablet

Tricinod tablet belongs to a family of drugs that are used to treat high blood pressure and is composed of Telmisartan, Cilnidipine and Chlorthalidone. This drug works by widening and dilating the blood vessels, which relaxes them. The regular recommended dosage of this drug is a 40 mg tablet if taken once a day. The doctor might increase the dosage to 80 mg, if you suffer from serious conditions of the heart.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication. It might not be suitable for everyone, since consuming this drug can lead to complications for patients affected by disorders such as liver disease, kidney failure, heart disease, diabetes and allergies.     How does this medication work?

    This drug is composed of Telmisartan, Cilnidipine and Chlorthalidone. Telmisartan displaces angiotensin II with very high affinity from its binding site at the AT1 receptor subtype, which is responsible for the known actions of angiotensin II. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium into the cardiac and vascular smooth muscles and prevents the contraction of the muscles and thereby reduces the blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that is used to treat hypertension. Due to the sodium and chloride symporter inhibition, as a result of the drug use, the elements do not get reabsorbed in the blood stream.
