How does this medication work?
Vasograin Tablet is a stimulant that affects the central nervous system and is one of the most common psychoactive drugs. Adenosine receptors get deactivated when the drug is consumed and leads to an increase in energy. The medicine is also provided with vasoconstrictor and analgesic properties that works by binding to serotonin (5-HT) 1D receptors present on intracranial blood vessels which leads to vasoconstriction and reduced blood flow in cranial arteries. This alleviates migraine symptoms. It also selectively inhibits enzyme function in the brain which allows it to treat pain and fever. It activates certain receptors in the brain that inhibit pain signals. Lastly, it provides antidopaminergic and anti-emetic effects. It inhibits the D2 somatodendritic autoreceptor. As a result, the gross dopamine turnover is increased, which in turn, contributes to Prochlorperazine’s anti-emetic properties.
